100 Days of Writing: Day 25

100 Days of Writing: Day 25

220 words on the comp book right before sleeping. It was on the same day I started running again even if I had to go to work that day (the one day I show up at the office for various goings-on) so it was a little tough to insist on writing towards the end of the day.

I’m feeling a little scared about being able to push through with 100, but I guess it’s just the incalculable pressure of the next 75 days weighing down on me at this moment, and not the humdrum reality of really just waiting for writing time and sitting on the chair and typing. Just 75 more of those and I’m done with this habit-building exercise.

But then ironically that means the habit will have been built, which means I may as well have been preparing to write for the rest of my life, and strangely, the enormity of that, the impossibility of that, weighs on me less. Maybe because it’s closer to an acceptance of my self-set identity: writers write. Is there really any other way?
