100 Days of Writing: Days 27 and 28

100 Days of Writing: Days 27 and 28

I was hoping being done with the big project at my gig would free me to write even more, but they gave me a new thing where I was happy talking to a lot more people but a bit apprehensive at being assumed to be available. I did a thing, met with Isabel Yap, writer of the fantastic, because, you know, Clarion *high five*. So I was only able to write a few forced words yesterday, it was pathetic.

But then today came, and it was a glorious Friday, and there was a minor alert thing at work that had nothing to do with the actual thing I was worried about, so thank you, subconscious, you can be such a dick sometimes. I ended up writing 885 words. I have one more scene on this short story, then we revise.

I almost think I’m more excited about revising now than I ever was. I always used to be so precious about my words. But now I’ve given myself permission to write the ugliest first drafts known to man, the words flow better. I’m going to put this thing through the wringer and I’m not sure whether that counts as writing, too. Ah, revisions, the true stars of the show.
